Team LAMA is in active development of a 9-panel platform for the game Rhythm Horizon called the RHYTHM HORIZON PLATFORM. We’re also excited to announce that these platforms have entered the beta testing stage and a number of these platforms are currently out to folks in the community to help us test them out.
Now, you’re probably wondering what this all means. Will these platforms only work exclusively with Rhythm Horizon? What is the feature set and price? When will these platforms be available for sale? These are all fair questions and we’d like to address them here. To start, here’s the features that the platforms have:
Additionally, if you want to get the most relevant, up-to-date information on pad development, you can join in the discussion at our RHYTHM HORIZON PLATFORM Discord channel on our server here: HTTPS://DISCORD.GG/CTFANJX. With all that said, let’s look at some frequently asked questions people have had in the past and answer them for RHYTHM HORIZON PLATFORMS.
When they’re ready. We have made lots of progress on the product itself over the past year and a half but there are more phases ahead of us to complete before we can ship, such as:
This will depend a lot on final material costs, manufacturing costs, labor, tariffs, etc. which vary quite a bit and will depend on the final build after testing completes. Our goal with this project has always been to provide a quality dance pad at the lowest cost possible, so we won’t know the absolute cost until we’re ready to sell.
Yes, although the pad will have the most features and functionality when used with Rhythm Horizon as it has custom integration for working with our game. That said, the platform will have a mode where it can function like any gaming device which will allow playing other dance games on Windows, Mac, or Linux.
Beta means that we consider this version of the electronics and mechanical construction of the platform complete and are sending it out for testing to verify that assumption. We’ve constructed and tested many alpha versions of the platform over the last several months and have a version we’re ready to send for members of the community to help test. Any issues we find during the Beta will be fixed in order to prepare the product for final compliance testing and then release. (Beta testers have already been chosen – please do not ask us if you can have a platform!)
No, the first iteration of the Rhythm Horizon Platforms will not come with a bar option. We have plans to sell a bar in the future that can be purchased separately that will work with the platform, BARRING any unforeseen circumstances.
No, the first version of the platform will not have lights. We’re considering making a version with lights in the future, if we’re BRIGHT enough to figure it out.
The platform (when available) will be purchasable through our website at WWW.RHYTHMHORIZON.COM. We will initially be selling the platform in the United States at launch, with plans to expand to other markets in the future.
It was not an impulsive decision.
We foresee many great things on the Horizon.
